Why is it that the work week goes by so slowly and the two days off fly by ever so quickly? I love those days off nonetheless. This weekend was a great one for me. Friday night I crashed. Exhausted from a wild week, I came home, took a two hour nap, got up for a couple of hours and was back in bed by ten. I love Friday nights because even though I usually go to bed close to my normal time, there is something amazing about knowing the alarm clock isn't going off the next morning!
Saturday morning I woke up and read some. I have recently gotten addicted to the Twilight series. I'm reading the last one now... It's really good, but I won't make this the unofficial book club discussion. After I read some, I got ready and began my trek to Hattiesburg. Someone told me when I moved to McComb that it was really convenient and close to larger places. That was a very misleading statement. I now know that convenient is a very subjective term because the closest larger town is Hattiesburg... and it's seventy miles from here. But the drive was so worth it. My first stop was at the Studio for a massage. A Mazing! Then my sister so generously left me a key to her apartment for a shower and nap. I skipped the nap though because I was so excited to go see Ginger and her new bundle of joy, Brogan. He was beautiful and she looked great considering the major surgery she had the previous day. I am so thankful they are both doing well.
Then, the great stuff didn't stop there. My friend Vallery was in town all the way from Nashville. We were able to hang out for a while and go to dinner with Joseph, Lori and Scott. It was great. But all good things must end and we had to go our seperate ways. Vallery went to hang with family in Brookhaven, Joe went to hang with family in Magee, and I went back to the conveniently located McComb...
I'm so thankful for the weekends... and for great friends... and family. I don't know what I would do without them.
